Valentine's Day Heart Pom Pom
Making Instructions
Materials Needed:
-
Red, pink, and white acrylic yarn (fluffy is good)
-
Pom pom maker (medium size)
-
Felt balls
-
Red and pink felt (for flowers and leaves)
-
Scissors
-
Glitter glue/beads
-
Needle and thread (optional for sewing)
-
Hot glue gun (optional for assembling)
Instructions:
-
Making the Pom Pom:
-
Open one side of your pom pom maker and start wrapping red yarn around one half until it's fully covered. Do the same with pink yarn on the other half.
-
Close the pom pom maker and cut the yarn along the middle groove.
-
Tie a piece of yarn tightly around the middle of the cut yarn, securing it in place.
-
Open the pom pom maker to release your round pom pom.
-
-
Shaping into a Heart:
-
Use scissors to trim the pom pom into a heart shape. Focus on creating a pointed bottom and a distinct cleft at the top.
-
-
Making Felt Flowers:
-
Cut small circles (about 1-2 cm in diameter) from red and pink felt.
-
Cut a spiral into each circle, starting from the edge and working towards the center.
-
Starting from the outside, roll the spiral tightly to form a flower shape. Secure the end with a dab of hot glue or a stitch.
-
-
Assembling the Pom Pom:
-
Use a hot glue gun or needle and thread to attach the felt flowers to the pom pom.
-
Add glitter glue accents to give it a sparkly finish.
-
-
Adding a Hanging Loop (Optional):
-
Cut a piece of yarn and tie it into a loop.
-
Secure the loop to the top of the pom pom for hanging.
-
Estimated Time: About 1 hour per pom pom.
